21. Century Education
Standards
In YUCE Schools, school plans are formed by combining the learning outcomes, concepts and skills of IB (International Baccalaureate) Programs, MEB (National Education Ministry) Curriculum and P21 (21st Century Skills Partnership) standards. Within the framework of 21st Century Education, students acquire an active learner profile with differentiated instruction and project based learning approaches. With the various assessment tools applied under formative and summative assessment techniques the development of the students is evaluated with comprehensive reports.
Language
The teaching language is Turkish in Pre-School, Primary School (1-4), and Secondary School (5-8). YUCE Schools, which is fully authorized by EAQUALS (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services),
offer English in pre-school, English and German in primary school and onwards as foreign languages. Turkish language education is provided for our international students outside of school hours.
The teaching language in high school is English. Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), our students graduate from the high school at the level of C1 in English,
indicating a master user, and at the level of B1 in German, which means an independent user.
Technology for Education
Private YUCE Schools use technology as an effective tool to provide education as a differentiated individual service for each student. With a "one-to-one technology" approach, each student from 3rd grade onwards uses a portable computer with his/her own Internet access. Student computers are built with cloud computing architecture and managed according to security policies. The school campus which is designed as a mirror of the 21st century business world has flexible classrooms equipped with technology and a secure Internet coverage. With the Learning Management System, lesson resources and many e-learning solutions are presented to the student through a single interface.
